Utility Accommodations Policy

The Utility Accommodations Policy Manual is established to regulate the location, installation and adjustment of utility facilities on the State Highway System, and also the issuance of permits for such work, in the interest of safety and of protection, utilization, and future development of the State of South Carolina roads and bridges.

The revised Policy for Accommodating Utilities on Highway Rights of Way as posted will have a two month grace period for all utility companies. The new Policy for Accommodating Utilities on Highway Rights of Way will become effective on September 1, 2011.
