I-26 Project Details
The project begins near the Interstate 77 interchange at MP 115 and ends at SC 6 (Caw Caw Road) at MP 136.
The project includes widening I-26 from four lanes to six lanes to increase capacity on this segment of I-26 from MP 115 to approximately a half mile east of Old Sandy Run Road MP 125.
The existing four lanes I-26 between just east of Old Sandy Run Road (MP 125) and SC 6 Caw Caw Road (MP 136) will be rehabilitated.
The eastbound and westbound I-26 mainline bridges over the CSX Railroad and Dixiana Road will be replaced as part of the project.
The Old Wire Road Bridge over I-26 will be raised to increase vertical clearance over I-26.
Construction began on November 17, 2013 and is estimated to be completed in September 2015.
